A Prayer For Change

2008 Democratic National Convention

Come join us in Denver as we participate in prayerful events at the Democratic National Convention, and call upon the Democratic Party to renounce their party plank of death on demand – abortion.

Check out the Denver Post coverage of A Prayer for Change!

The presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, Barack Obama, is unashamedly pro-abortion. It would be tragic if the DNC were held, openly supporting a radical pro-abortion agenda, and the people of God did not respond with a strong Christ-centered public witness.

We know that history can be changed and attitudes shifted as Christians intercede for God’s power and mercy. We believe abortion will end in America as the Church repents and boldly works and prays to end the killing of these innocents.

We must seize this historic moment!

Upcoming Events include prayer vigils and street activities celebrating life and calling for an end to America’s war on the preborn.

A Prayer for Change is sponsored by: the Christian Defense Coalition, based in Washington, D.C., and the Survivors of the Abortion Holocaust, a youth training and activism organization based in Riverside, California.

The following groups are joining A Prayer for Change: Stand True, Generation Life National, Faith and Action, National Clergy Council, Rock for Life, Generation Life Philadelphia, Operation Rescue.

Why The DNC

The sponsors of A Prayer for Change make no distinction between political parties when it comes to defense of the preborn. We hold all pro-abortion politicians accountable regardless of party.

However, the Republican Party currently advocates a “Culture of Life” (quoted directly from their party platform), and for that stand we applaud the Republican Party.

We continue to see individual Republicans deny the pro-life position and endorse abortion, and those individuals are indeed held accountable. We have exposed pro-abortion Republican politicians in the past, and we will continue to do so. We will also continue to remind the Republican Party of the plight of the preborn, and encourage the party through prayer and action to hold an uncompromising stand against abortion.

On the contrary, the Democratic Party as a whole continues to embrace the lie of abortion, advocating death for American children. All of the current Democratic candidates for president are pro-abortion, in keeping with the party line. As a result, we believe it is our responsibility to confront the Democratic Party with the truth of abortion, and call for an end to America’s war on the preborn at the Democratic National Convention.
